Bellevue’s Cantina Monarca sets sights on Seattle waterfront debut in 2027

Bellevue’s Cantina Monarca, a 45-year-old Mexican restaurant brand, plans to open an 11,000-square-foot Seattle location at Lake Union Piers in summer 2027. The upscale dining spot will feature gourmet tacos, lobster enchiladas, over 100 tequilas, and waterfront views of Lake Union and the Space Needle. The restaurant group, founded by Bernie Garcia, has operated Moctezuma’s Mexican Restaurant since 1978 with locations in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Southcenter, and Silverdale.
