Seattle goes to court after ruling freezes plan for 6-story neighborhood centers along transit corridors
Seattle is challenging a state court ruling that froze its plan to allow 6-story mixed-use buildings in 30 neighborhood centers and along transit corridors. The Central Puget Sound Growth Management Hearings Board ruled in September that the city’s environmental analysis was inadequate. Mayor Katie Wilson and City Attorney Erika Evans filed a legal appeal, while the city completes a supplemental environmental review due by September 2027. The freeze delays housing expansion plans that could eventually affect South King County communities.
