State Lawmaker, SDOT Director Clash Over Aurora Avenue Overhaul

State Representative Julia Reed is frustrated with Seattle’s slow progress on Aurora Avenue improvements despite $50 million in state funding awarded in 2022. Reed clashed with Acting SDOT Director Angela Brady over delays in connecting Fremont across Aurora Avenue, with Brady citing difficulties accessing the state grant funds. SDOT has since agreed to schedule a November meeting between the Aurora Reimagined Coalition and consultants to discuss near-term demonstration projects.
