‘Doesn’t sound like they’re much of an authority on anything’: Jake and Spike call for scrapping KCRHA after nearly $17M shortfall

The King County Regional Homelessness Authority faces renewed calls for dissolution after a review found a nearly $17 million funding shortfall that Seattle and King County taxpayers will have to cover. The agency spent more than its grants supported, partly due to failing to meet service thresholds needed to secure expected funding. King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson called the shortfall unacceptable, while council members Maritza Rivera and Rod Dembowski are pushing to shut down the agency entirely.
