Despite Pushback, Updated RapidRide R Plans Include Scant Changes

King County Metro released updated plans this week for the RapidRide R bus line, set to replace Route 7 along Rainier Avenue by 2032. The revised proposal adds two stop pairs in response to community concerns but maintains significant consolidation elsewhere, creating gaps up to half a mile. The King County Council will vote next month on the plan, with Executive Girmay Zahilay proposing $64.4 million in funding acceleration to support the $91.2 million project.
