Six Tacoma Census Tracts Nominated by Governor Bob Ferguson as Federal ‘Opportunity Zones’

Governor Bob Ferguson nominated six Tacoma census tracts as federal Opportunity Zones, a tax incentive program designed to spur investment in low-income communities. The designations cover areas including Downtown Tacoma, Hilltop, and the Brewery District. Tacoma’s existing Opportunity Zones have attracted over $250 million in private investment since 2018, supporting housing, mixed-use development, and jobs.
