Road closures pile up this week as WSDOT races to beat fall weather

WSDOT is closing multiple lanes and ramps across the region this week to complete pavement repairs, utility work, and maintenance before fall weather hits. Burien residents using southbound I-5 between SR 516 and S 272nd St. should expect minor backups from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Friday, Oct. 16, as crews install signs and remove temporary barriers for the SR 509 Completion Project. Additional closures affect I-5, I-90, SR 520, and other highways throughout King and Pierce counties.
