King County names FBI veteran as first taxpayer watchdog
King County Council appointed Stuart Robinson, an FBI veteran with 26 years of federal service and a decade in inspector general roles, to lead the county’s first inspector general’s office for a five-year term. The new office will investigate fraud, waste, and abuse in county programs and contracts, operate a fraud hotline, and protect whistleblowers—addressing concerns raised by recent audits that found nearly $700,000 in questionable spending across county-funded organizations.
