Winter crabbing season opens Oct. 1 in several Puget Sound marine areas
Washington’s Department of Fish and Wildlife announced that recreational crabbing will reopen October 1 in seven Puget Sound marine areas, including the San Juan Islands, Admiralty Inlet, and parts of Hood Canal, running through December 31. The Seattle-Bremerton and Tacoma-Vashon areas won’t reopen due to limited catch quotas from summer fishing. Recreational crabbers need a valid Washington fishing license, Puget Sound Dungeness crab endorsement, and must follow daily limits and hard-shell requirements.
