Against the odds: Three Asian American theatre-makers keep stages alive

Three Seattle-area Asian American theatre-makers—music director Aimee Hong, performer Michael Wu, and ReAct Theatre founder David Hsieh—are keeping the regional theatre scene alive despite closures across the country. They’re collaborating on free readings of the original musical Cat Country on October 2 at Bellevue College and October 3 at ReAct Theatre, showcasing a story centered on Asian American characters and voices during challenging times for performing arts funding and audience recovery.
