US Military Launches Breakthrough Quantum Nav Test from Washington Waters

The U.S. Defense Innovation Unit announced on September 4 that a test flight using quantum magnetic navigation sensors successfully flew from Washington’s Puget Sound to southern Alaska and back without GPS. The Honeywell Aerospace prototype, tested on an Embraer 170 aircraft, improved navigation accuracy by 89% compared to traditional backup methods. The technology reads Earth’s magnetic field and could strengthen military aviation in areas where GPS signals are unavailable or jammed.
