Sound Transit has a dead fish problem

Sound Transit discovered thousands of dead fish in Lake Washington near the new Crosslake light rail system in early August, possibly electrocuted by electrical anode strings designed to prevent bridge corrosion. The agency lifted the strings off the lake bed by August 23 as a temporary fix and is working with fish biologists and regulatory agencies to investigate. Several federally protected salmon species inhabit the lake, raising environmental concerns if deaths continue.
