Sound Transit’s light rail floating bridge on Lake Washington has killed approximately 2,000 fish since opening in March, mostly perch and bass with some salmon. The agency believes cables resting on the lake bottom are responsible and removed them two weeks ago. The fish deaths occurred despite ecological protections being a requirement for the bridge’s construction.
