Seattle's Pinehurst Light Rail Station Will Open September 30

Sound Transit announced that Pinehurst Station, a new light rail stop in North Seattle between Northgate and South Shoreline, will open September 30, 2026. The elevated station will serve both the 1 Line and 2 Line with an estimated 3,400 daily boardings and feature South Pacific-themed artwork by Seattle-based artist Romson Bustillo. The opening coincides with the start of fall classes at the University of Washington and includes a new King County Metro Route 77 connecting Lake City and Bitter Lake.
