One Well Already Lost, Highline Water District Raises Concerns About Sea-Tac Expansion Plan
Highline Water District submitted concerns to the Port of Seattle about Sea-Tac Airport’s expansion plans, specifically the Fuel Farm Expansion project (S01) in the airport’s southeast area. The district lost the Tyee Well in 2022 due to PFAS contamination from airport operations and wants stronger environmental analysis and protections for its remaining wells near proposed project sites. HWD is asking that PFAS commitments in technical reports be reflected in the final environmental impact statement before approval.
