The New Seattle Transit Measure Could Make Night Buses Function

Seattle voters will decide in November on a new Seattle Transit Measure that would double bus funding from $50 million to $100 million over 10 years, adding 100,000 service hours. The City Council approved the 0.3 percent sales tax increase in July and included an amendment prioritizing overnight bus service. If approved, the measure could significantly expand night routes, including those serving Burien like the Rapid Ride H line, which currently receives 63 percent of funding from the existing STM.
