Neighbors reject new proposal aimed at West Seattle Triangle’s homelessness-related challenges
West Seattle neighbors unanimously rejected a proposal by nonprofit Anything Helps to create a temporary sanctioned tent encampment near West Seattle Stadium and convert the Westside Neighbors Shelter into a resource center. The proposal aimed to serve people experiencing homelessness in the area, including some from Burien, by providing stability for case-management clients. Seattle Police said they opposed the shelter reopening but saw no legal barriers to it returning as a cold-weather shelter.
