Fire-damaged Ballard warehouse slated for demolition and sale

A fire-damaged warehouse in Ballard at 4222 8th Ave NW is slated for demolition and sale. The three-alarm fire on June 11 was deemed accidental and caused the roof to collapse; over 100 firefighters responded. The Yeakel family, who have owned the 2.2-acre property for 74 years, plans to demolish the building by October and sell the land rather than rebuild.
