Highline Changes Public-Testimony Rules During Election Season

Highline Public Schools announced new limits on public testimony during election season, effective immediately. Starting with the August 19 board meeting, speakers may no longer use public-comment periods to support or oppose ballot measures once they’re on the ballot. The change follows a Public Disclosure Commission warning to nearby Kent School District, clarifying that public facilities cannot be used to promote political campaigns.
