Salish Tribute bike trail weaves through Indigenous art
Bellingham has launched the Salish Tribute, a free 25-mile self-guided bike trail featuring 18 Indigenous art installations honoring Coast Salish peoples, including the Lummi Nation and Nooksack Tribe. Created by Sarah Birch through BIKE Bellingham, the route includes murals, story poles, and sculptures across the city and offers a shorter 13-mile option. While this regional cultural initiative may interest Burien cyclists and those learning about Pacific Northwest Indigenous heritage, the event is located in Bellingham and has limited direct connection to Burien.
