City of Tacoma to Activate New Automated Enforcement Cameras Beginning September 14

Tacoma is activating two automated speed enforcement cameras on September 14 on Norpoint Way NE and SR-509/Marine View Drive as part of its Vision Zero safety initiative. Drivers will receive warning notices during a one-month period, then face $145 citations for speeding violations. Six additional cameras will be installed at other Tacoma locations beginning January 2027.
