Go Behind the Tank With Point Defiance’s Sharks

Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma has launched Fins for the Future, a behind-the-scenes shark tour running Tuesday through Saturday. The thirty-minute tour costs $35–$55 per person and takes up to six visitors through employee areas, the filtration system, and kitchen while learning about the zoo’s conservation work with endangered Indo-Pacific leopard sharks. The program connects visitors to global wildlife efforts, including efforts to boost shark populations in Indonesia.
