Save Ballard Rail pushes for 2035 light rail opening

Sound Transit outlined two timelines for the Ballard Link Extension on July 31: light rail could reach Market Street by 2042 if funding and savings goals are met, or not until 2060 under current financial constraints. Save Ballard Rail advocacy group is pushing Sound Transit to accelerate the project to 2035, calling 2060 unacceptable and urging the agency to secure $1 billion in additional savings or funding by 2030 and finalize all funding by 2033.
