Seattle City Council Unanimously Passes Historic Seattle Transit Measure

Seattle City Council unanimously passed the Seattle Transit Measure, which will increase the city’s transit sales tax by 0.15 percent for ten years to fund over 100,000 additional transit service hours. Mayor Katie Wilson proposed the measure, which now goes to November voters. The measure will expand evening and weekend bus service, increase transit access programs, and invest in transit infrastructure, marking the longest-funded transit initiative in Seattle’s history.
