A first for the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League: All-woman crew officiates game at MTHS

The Puget Sound Senior Baseball League celebrated a historic milestone on July 19 when umpires Stephanie Capelli and Regina Boyd became the first all-female officiating crew in the league’s history, working a game at Mountlake Terrace High School between the RiverCats and Knights (Age 45 & over division). The RiverCats won 8-6 despite a ninth-inning Knights rally. Boyd is a U.S. Armed Forces veteran; Capelli recently graduated from the Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School in Florida.
