Pierce Transit Goes to Voters for First Funding Increase Since 2002

Pierce Transit’s board unanimously approved a ballot measure for November that would increase the dedicated sales tax from 0.6% to 0.9%—the first funding increase since 2002. If approved, the measure would expand service by roughly 40%, add four new routes, extend hours on 23 routes, and provide free transit to seniors.
