It’s the End of the KCRHA as We Know It

King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson announced a restructuring of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority (KCRHA) following a damning audit that revealed a $45 million deficit and $13 million in untracked funds. By January, Seattle and King County will retake control of over $158 million in service contracts, while KCRHA retains limited regional functions. The agency’s budget will be cut by more than half, affecting 20–25 staff jobs, with the long-term future of KCRHA to be decided later this year.
