Honoring Seattle’s 'Little Sister of Liberty'

Seattle’s Alki Beach features a 7.5-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty, installed in 1952 by Boy Scouts as part of a national “Strengthen the Arm of Liberty” campaign during the Cold War. The bronze statue, originally copper and restored in 2007, stands at 2665 Alki Ave SW and is roughly a 20–30 minute drive from Burien. The monument commemorates Seattle’s founding at Alki in 1851 and serves as a local symbol of freedom and American values.
