Democratic Leaders Launch ‘No Hate in WA State’ Campaign Opposing Anti-Trans Ballot Measures

Democratic leaders launched the “No Hate in WA State” campaign in June to oppose two conservative-backed ballot initiatives (IL26-001 and IL26-638) targeting transgender rights that will appear on Washington’s November ballot. The initiatives would require schools to disclose student medical information to parents and mandate invasive sex verification exams for girls in school sports. U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, King County Executive Girmay Zahilay, and local advocates spoke at the Seattle rally opposing the measures, which are backed by $5.5 million in funding from Let’s Go Washington PAC.
