Katie Wilson Kicks off Expanded Bicycle Weekends on Lake Washington Boulevard

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson kicked off the 2026 Bicycle Weekend season on Lake Washington Boulevard with around 300 cyclists on Saturday, May 24. This year’s expanded schedule runs every weekend from Memorial Day to Labor Day (except Seafair weekend July 31–August 2), with extended Friday and Sunday evening hours. A 2022 public survey showed 62% of Seattle residents supported expansion. The event drew both supporters and dozens of protesters organized by the pro-driving group Coexist Lake Washington.
